Comments Thread For: Leo Santa Cruz: I Fight Whoever They Tell Me To Fight

LOS ANGELES Leo Santa Cruz discussed potential fights against Gervonta Davis and Oscar Valdez, and why he thinks his long-awaited showdown with Gary Russell Jr. hasn't happened. He also addressed the criticism he is taking for facing a low-profile opponent for the third time in his past four fights. In his first fight at 130 pounds, the three-division champion is scheduled to meet Miguel Flores on November 23 in Las Vegas.

Yep who ever, even those 3rd tier fighters. No justifying this fight. He better step it up in his next fight because he is fighting himself into obscurity.

I want to see him fight Russell but I have to admit that Russell really isn’t helping his case fighting once a year. It’s like he had an over inflated sense of importance.

I want a Mexican HoF like Barrera, Marquea, Chavez, Morales to publicly shame TF out of Santa Cruz for fighting bums, this guy won't step up, when he did, he lost and ran away with the rematch.

Santa Cruz has always blamed Haymon for us not getting the fights we want to see him in. Remember when Rigo was on his ass and he said "Al Haymon told me that wouldn't be a good fight".

Idk how Haymon works, nobody really does. everyone on here just goes off assumption. I'm assuming Santa Cruz is telling the truth BUT he's also not mad about what he's being told. He's just happy to go along with whatever he's told.

I feel like Haymons the kinda guy that will advise his guys in what fights to take or not take, but if it comes down to something they really want, he makes it happen.

Santa Cruz has fought so many tuneups I lost all interest in anything he does.

The Hayman MO is talk fights, fight less and only fight the miss-matchs, old names and fighters that never were.

Try to sell it on PPV...wash rinse and repeat.
