This isn't actually a surprise. I feel as though he never really wanted to fight Chisora in the first place. He was just fronting and hoping Chisora wouldn't take it. But now he has, Parker feels as though another loss is on the way which he can't afford otherwise his career at the top is practically over. So he's come up with this excuse.

Hopefully Chisora doesn't let him get away for long with a rescheduling of the fight. That's if Parker doesn't have any excuses or other demands to make sure it doesn't happen. We shall see.
