Is there a decline in Matchroom PPV buys in the UK?

AJ vs Ruiz = 562,000 buys

Lomachenko vs Campbell = 205,000 buys

Dillian Whyte vs Oscar Rivas = 289,000

    -------------------------------------------------------

AJ vs Ruiz is an outlier. That's a great number against a fighter that's unknown as a late replacement who isn't aesthetically pleasing to the eyes of the average casual fan. And the fight was at 4am on a Champions League finals night between two big English clubs. Most football fans were drunk and dead asleep when the fight started and most woke up in shock the next day. AJ should easily break his previous record of 1.5million buys in the rematch. I'm predicting at least 2million PPV buys. None of Fury's fights in the US has sold 100k buys in the UK - let that sink in.

No excuse for the terrible Lomachenko vs Campbell numbers due to the hype before the fight. And those are terrible numbers for the Dillian vs Rivas card with all the fighters on the undercard. Dave Allen vs Pricey on their own would do close to 100k buys and Chisora on his own can do about 50k buys.

Hearn is about to be exposed in October as an overrated promoter when the Taylor, Prograis, Chisora and Parker fight bombs at the box office. AJ made him who he's and he has been living off Josh's name for too long, while feeling himself. the catalyst for the ridiculous high numbers in PPV buys in the UK in the last 4 years is solely AJ. No other British boxer was doing great numbers apart from David Haye. And before that, it was Ricky Hatton. Groves vs Froch had a one-hit wonder in their second fight (the first one bombed) with less than 400k buys and that's about it.

Anthony Joshua MADE Eddie Hearn and Matchroom.

Now, I see why Dillian Whyte woke up yesterday dreaming about fighting AJ to regain his profile, lol. AJ needs to make him wait until he has a belt - no favours for smearing jealous idiots. The drug cheat started the TUE rumours and AJ shouldn't save him. Let his profile get rinsed until he becomes irrelevant.

Josh made Eddie, Matchroom, DAZN, and now he's about to make a boxing culture in Saudi Arabia.

I'm not sure using him as the draw for startups is what is best for Joshua, but, Eddie sure does make out well.

No, he has little or nothing to do with DAZN. The biggest factor with DAZN is mostly Canelo. But he might contribute in the rematch.

These promoters who think they have the formula to make boxers into a draw when they're not the ones getting punched in the face/head crack me up. In boxing, as a promoter, you're only as great as your boxer. Talking a lot as a promoter alone isn't a enough. The boxer is the product and you need the product. How good a promoter is judged on how they match their boxers and Matchroom would've to be the worst when it coming to matching boxers. they basically just throw boxers in the deep end and expect them to swim out of it. Just look at Josh Kelly and Kell Brook.

Al Haymon was also high and mighty when he had Floyd Mayweather. Look at him now and how he keeps faking PPV numbers and how much he pays boxers to keep the sinking ship afloat.

I mean Joshua fighting at 4 am opposed to primetime obviously makes a big impact.

The rest of the numbers look just about right.

That's true I've noticed some daft matchmaking by matchroom in recent years. Poor clash of styles and putting prospects in over their head too early like ritson and cheeseman for recent examples and Kelly as you stated.

Where did get that number from? At first they claimed the fight did over a million buys by adding all BT’s box office number for the week. Now it’s 200k, lol.

If it did anything close to that number, Frank Warren would’ve announced it. There’s also doubts that the fight did 300k in the US and they claimed the number is fake.

Dillian did over 400k with Chisora on a shytty card. But he did just 289k on a packed card with boxers with huge home support based on the undercard.

Hearn hyped the hell out of the Lomachenko fight with Campbell and the fight bombed. Campbell on his own can get 50k buys in Yorkshire if he’s promoted by a pig.

                    Both flopped - no excuses.
