In a fight like that...the refs who are able to just use verbal warnings to keep the action flowing and as clean as possible will help the fight build and build....some might even step in to unhook arms during inside action to keep it continuous.

The styles of the fighters have to matchup too - both those guys know their way around on the inside and they knew it was a dogfight so there no time to worry about potential fouls when another 2-3 shots are incoming

As far as Bayless in that situation, I definitely get what you mean about his style (especially with Floyd) - but I don't think he'd really be interested in trying to stepping between that scrap!
