Comments Thread For: Yildrim: Benavidez A Brave Fighter But Not A Very Skilled Boxer

Avni Yildirim didn't have a preference in the winner of Saturday's super middleweight title fight but was pleased with how the night ultimately played out. David Benavidez regained his old World Boxing Council (WBC) 168-pound title following a 9th round stoppage of Anthony Dirrell in the chief supporting bout of a Fox Sports Pay-Per-View show live from Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif. The bout was ordered by the sanctioning body with the condition that the winner next face Turkey's Yidirim, who suffered a controversial split decision defeat to Dirrell earlier this year.

He never got out of 1st gear, DB looked like he was just trying to box, there were a few instances where he let his hands go & pieced up Dirrell.

I keep telling people chris eubank jr is a real player at 168. If yildrem beats or is competitive with benavidez, that's says alot about eubank Jr who completely dominated and koed yildrem in like 5 or 6rds

              And so it begins.

If Yildirim is the mando in the WBC with Eubank Jr. ranked behind. Then I imagine Haymon makes the Yildirim fight next with the Dirrell context. So aside from Eubank Jr. having already blasted away Yildirim, Haymon better at least give Eubank Jr. a good fight next in the meantime. Otherwise it’s Eubank Jr. that should be given this title opportunity next.
