Say what you will about Porter but...

That man showed real heart and a tremendous chin. I have been heavily critical of his style before because I think he often smothers his work however he has been in a number of exciting fights (Brook, Thurman, Broner, Spence).

He always brings intensity in big fights and most have ended up being very close loses (some controversial).

I mentioned prior to the fight that it would be interesting if Porter could take Spence's power and thankfully he could. Spence for his part didn't back down and brought some tremendous body-shots (though at times he was quite dirty with all the low blows). He seemed to get rocked a few times but quickly recovered and showed he can be involved in a physical dirty fight and stand his ground well.

Does this make me lean towards Spence in a match-up against Crawford? No I still favour Crawford, but it does show Spence wont go away and im not sure Crawford has the kind of power to get Spence out of there....

I had Porter winning the fight up until the 11th round (he clearly lost the last 2 rounds) which made the fight a lot closer in my eyes. Still think he should of had his hand raised but have no qualms about someone thinking its a draw or a win for Spence.

Hopefully Porter gets a rematch, he deserves one.

... so, you had Porter ahead after 10 rounds...

... so you had him 6-4... but please don't tell me you had him 7-3...

Why is 7-3 so far fetched? most of the rounds where extremely close and extremely competitive. I often gave rounds to Porter because of his work-rate and what I believe to be effective aggression. I also believe that Spence should have at least had 1 point deducted for the constant low blows, pulling Porter down and using his forearms on Porters face..

Like I said though, I wouldnt be shocked if other had it the opposite way

... I see... in fact you're right: Larry Hazzard Jr had it 8-2 after 10 rounds... tbh...

(it was a shutout after 10 rounds, right?)

I have been telling for long time that Shawn is tough cookie. I don`t know why people needed Spence fight to start respecting Shawn, because Shawn is always there to fight, nobody stopped him, he gives a hard time to everybody he fights, he has wins against Berto, Alexander, Danny Garcia. Gave hard time to Thurman. Brook clinched all night to beat this guy.

Shawn has been top 5 welterweight for a long time, nothing new to me.

Yeah we know he's tough but like I said at times his style can be off-putting because he smother's his work, however in saying that he has been in a lot of big fights and has been in some of the most exciting WW fights in recent history, this was mainly what I was trying to elude to.

I thought it was unrealistic that Spence would just walk through Spence like some on here were suggesting before the fight.

Spence fans can be the fuggin worst, lol. They wanna hear others say he dominated and dog-walked Porter and that just wasn't the case on Saturday night.

That man fought like a champion and didn't come to lay down because of Spence's reputation. Errol earned every cent on Saturday and both guys made boxing what it's supposed to be!

What I find funny is the ones with most to say didn't even buy the fight, lol. But you're a Spence supporter, right? FOH! Both guys did their thing and I can't be mad about it, but some of these Spence fans are about as bad the Golovkunts floating around the net.
