Why is Porter so consistently underrated?

This also shows that all of these welters are on the same level. A fighthype reporter made a good point asking DSG why media puts Spence and crawford on a pedestal above the rest of the fighters. I don’t see any welterweight walking through any top 5 welter.
The only standout from the Welterweight crop is a 40 year old Pacquiao. He clearly beat Thurman

On the level below, you have Thurman, Garcia, Porter and Spence scraping close decisions against each other.

I think that goes to show that the division is definitely loaded with names, but lacking in overall talent.

Spence didn't seperate himself from the other welterweights last night. He won a tough split decision and got hit clean tons.

        He’s an excellent fighter

He’s only lost close decisions to Thurman, Brook and Spence, all of which were also very good fighters at their peak.

I rate him, I don’t always like watching him but he’s proven he’s one of the very top guys in the division. There’s nothing wrong with a few close losses.

I thought people learned some things from Floyd - Maidana 1, but they didn`t. They keep talking that somebody is "C level" even though he is or was a world champ and that "he will be finished inside 5 rounds" and so.

Porter has some big, steel balls. seriously. Look at the reaction difference between a warrior and a puta.

He doesn’t get respect because of his sloppy style
If we can call it sloppy
But he’ll make anybody work hard for the W

Spence has shown that he's just a level above; Brook, Thurman, Danny, old-man Pacquiao, Porter, Ugas, and a couple others have shown to be at a certain level. Crawford hasn't dipped his toe into the pool yet, but folks are placing him due to what Arum has fed the boxing press, tbh.

Porter fights the way he fights, he's shown that he's of a certain level, but his particular style is so seemingly haphazard that folks aren't are to give it credit.

Porter's roughness kept him in it, but you pull that, and you basically see the Brook fight again; Porter hangs in there, but Spence Jr shows his level late when he pulls away.

Because he has a Ugly Style lacks Power & Has a history of Coming Up Short almost every time he’s fought a top 5 WW , He wins rounds & always makes the fights competitive but you’ll quickly get overlooked and under rated
in this sport when you’re 1/4 Fighting against the other Top Prime WWs ( I didn’t even think he deserved the W against Garcia )

Fans/ media usually dont value a fighter who’s looked at as 1B no matter how good they are

Spence wasn’t the one pulling away though, Porter was getting more and more comfortable outboxing Spence until the KD.
