And it is worth noting that Showtime Shawn LOOKED like the winner after the fight which is ultimately meaningless, but does say something about who beat who or who didnt beat who often times.

But I disagree with the overall take of this makes Errol lesser somehow. I think this version of Showtime Shawn we saw last night isnt 30-2-1 coming into the fight last night. Idk if hes 33-0 or not, but I think there is an argument he couldve been. I think Errol fought the best Showtime Shawn weve seen & it makes sense this was both guys biggest fight thus far. Its different at this level with this much attention with title holder vs title holder.
Shawn definitely rose to the occasion. You're right that might have been the best Shawn Porter we've seen. Errol didn't look like the convincing winner in there because he was fighting Porter's fight. I expected Spence to box and counter as Porter lunges in but he found a way inside and got his own shots off consistently without being hurt in the process, was not expecting that at all. A draw would have been a fair decision.

        Porter did all he could
He made it a dog fight , made his fight
I think Spence won the fight , the knockdown probably was the sealer
But I don’t think he came close to dominating hence knocking Porter out
I think this fight will affect Spence as seen in the post fight press conference
He will be a target , no more suspense or fighters doubting their capabilities to beat him
We’ll see who his next fight is against
        That will speak volumes imo

Yup he thought — and most fans including me (though i rooted for porter— that he was levels above the rest of the welters.. found out real quick early in the fight that he ain’t....that the gap ain’t far between and his ego is probably bleeding discovering that..
He believed his own hype before they happened.

So to not give thurman, garcia or old pacquiao a shot over him is ******.. considering two among those guys handled porter well too

When top guys fight each other, it usually goes on decision. The exception is heavyweight division. Other problem is, many of you believed Porter was some bum club fighter and Spence top elite creme de la creme. neither this is a true, they are pretty much on the same level.

What is giving you that thought? I think Spence knows exactly who he is. If his ego waa to be hurt it would have been after the mikey fight.
