Spence/Porter: Let's talk outcomes. And what they MUST mean.

Spence KO's (not TKO) Porter: He'll have done what many other top guys have failed to do. Spence must be considered #1 welterweight.

Spence stops (not KO) Porter: again, he'll have done what many other top guys have failed to do, but it depends on the stoppage. If he's stopped off a trigger ref or Porter's dad, it's another day in the park, but if he stops Porter due to a barrage of unanswered shots and a Porter cowering in the corner, Spence must be regarded #1 welterweight.

Spence decisions Porter close: Actually, I find this to be the most likely outcome. Porter is rough and rugged, and that smothering is something Spence hasn't had to deal with, but we all know the judges love seeing it. If it happens Spence is up there and it's a solid win, but not #1. Manny would take that spot.

Spence decisions Porter wide: If Spence does to Porter what he did to Mikey and/or Peterson (before the stoppage), he'll have done what NO other fighter has ever been able to do, including Keef. #1.

Porter gets any sort of win over Spence that isn't close: Spence is overrated.

Porter gets a close win: People on here will scream robbery, but given he went close with Thurman and Garcia, it's actually quite possible, and Porter has to be in the conversation for at least #2 behind Manny.

Porter manages to stop or KO Spence: I just don't see it happening, but IF he manages to do it, how can Porter not be #1? He'll have wins over Spence, Thurman AND Garcia, he'll have easily the best modern era resume.

A DRAW: I'm sorry. This should be impossible. Simply impossible.

In the event of a Porter win (which I just don't see either) it really will be hard to argue in terms of resume as you point out. My gut tells me Spence by comfortable UD, possibly with Porter beating the count on a few knockdowns in the back half.

Hmm. Spence with that Mike Tyson's Punchout promo. Implies he needs one punch to KO Crawford. LOL

I’m rooting for porter in whatever way.. if it’s close then it means the gap between the spence and the crawfords to the fossil manny’s danny’s thurman’s of the world ain’t what the fans were trying to make it out to be.

Spence not being able to KO chubby garcia already spoke volumes as he landed a lot of punches on him.

Spence having a close fight with Porter further solidifies why he’s just okay on “his side of the street” instead of pushing for a crawford fight, which would be his legacy fight, while they’re both at their respective primes.
