Edgar Berlenga is looking to build on his explosive start to life in the paid ranks and he sets his sights on fight dates in Florida and New York before 2019 is concluded. Berlenga, who hails from New York, however, stays close to his Puerto Rican roots recently announced that he had linked up famed trainer Andre Rozier which has led Berlenga to Northern California in the camp of world title challenger Sergiy Derevyanchenko. Dereyvyanchenko has held camp between the state of the art SNAC facility in the Bay Area and the Aloha Boxing Club with Berlenga being an integral part of the camp, acting as a sparring partner for the Ukrainian who squares off against Gennady Golovkin on October 5.

According to BoxRec, Berlanga hasn't fought a boxer ranked below 309.

No coincidence ggg fighting the easiest option with least resistance for a vacant belt... AGAIN. No coincidence hes fighting once again someone tailormade for him with average power ,shorter than him with shorter reach(this guy only fought Jacobs whose slightly bigger than him,the rest have been naturally smaller guys except maybe ishida who was not top level.And Deryev is still very green at pro level with many chïnks in his chin already in very few fights.)

Well it's not Golovkin's fault that Canelo trashed his belt. He had to or else he would have been forced to fight him. Now he has another excuse. He doesn't like him because mean old Golovkin hurt his feelings. LOL...
