I like Golovkin and he looks good but at 37 it's the reflexes that are more important than being cut.

I did hear that, think it was golovkin himself who mentioned this bro.

Yeah definitely. But being in shape and not drained could help his reflexes somewhat. less time burning fat in those last weeks of camp more honing timing with banks as well as the improved padwork compared to what abel had him doing.

From what's been posted by guys in his camp, he appears to be in the kind of shape he was several years ago. Having Banks, Parker and Lockwood in his corner is definitely going to stall the aging that Abel and his training/diet was accelerating. Excited to see how things come together against Derev.

I think he's similar to floyd in that he takes care of himself and is a gym rat he has an underrated engine (stamina) and dedication to boxing.

His stamina has always been great for a MW. He didn't take care of himself well enough these past few years, especially for the Canelo fights. He put on too much weight. Banks said Golovkin came into this camp around 167-168, which he hasn't done in I don't know how long. He was definitely bigger heading into camp for the Canelo fights. His face especially doesn't seem as sunken and dry.

Agree I like the idea of changing trainers. Banks is a Manny Steward protege, so I'm psyched to see what GGG brings on the 5th.

Yeah apparently that's what Gennady says, apparently he was the technically better of the 2 as well.

On topic GGG looks in great shape already

This definitely applies. He clearly lives the life for the most part, with his ceiling of "getting crazy" clearly being an extra steak dinner and beer or two rather than snorting lines lines off of stripper breasts. This in tandem with his later pro start and the one sided nature of so much of his resume has yielded a very well preserved 37. Unless genetics cause his physicality to nosedive overnight in the near future, he could very well be equipped to go to war into his early to mid 40s without all that much of a drop off; not that that's necessarily the gameplan or in his best interest.
