  • Comments Thread For: Shawn Porter: I'm Not Surprised I'm The Underdog

If he ever believed the odds to be a true reflection of what would take place, Shawn Porter would have never chosen to become a pro boxer. The squat welterweight from Akron, Ohio managed to successfully transition from the football gridiron to the boxing ring, carving out a stellar amateur career along with two separate title reigns in the pro ranks. A who's who of top welterweights has graced his rsum, which will soon include Errol Spence (25-0, 21KOs) whom he faces in a title unification clash Saturday evening at Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif.

The only reason I want Spence to win this is because I want him to be undefeated when he faces and loses to Bud Crawford (if they can ever make that damn fight).

Idk man I see a close fight between Crawford and Spence its 50-50 for me. I feel like Spence can cut the ring off on Crawford an Spence has a nice jab an can box but we never seen Crawford or Spence really respect their opponent where they have to make adjustments from their original thought process goin into the fight. Like I kno almost all their fights they've had to make adjustments but not the type they'll have to make goin against each other. I hope they fight soon as in the next 2-3yrs because I don't wanna see the situation playing out like May-Pac an GGG-Canelo I wanna see em in their primes so their ain't no excuses coming from the losers fans

Hopefully Porter wins this, I got a feeling tho that it's going to go to scorecards and Porter looked real good but he will get robbed nd they will give to Spence..just because. Hopefully not.

Mhmm, right. Put Spence in the same room as Bud and watch which one gets nervous.

I give Porter a better chance....

I give Porter a better chance at beating Spence than any other welterweight out there. Porter has a relentless style. He comes forward and he can play rough. He'll throw everything - including his head, elbow, and kitchen sink. Spence reminds of The Terminator however. I can't see him getting stopped. Porter can win on points. But I can see Spence winning by stoppage. Should be an interesting fight.
