A fight like this should never be sanctioned. Even as an exhibition, they should at least get some 18 oz gloves and headgear for a 4-rounder if they really want to earn a payday and get back a little of their former glory. To quote Ving Rhames in Pulp Fiction, "there's no old-timers day in boxing". This isn't baseball or basketball. As people age, they cannot take punches to the head like they could in their youth. I don't care what kind of condition they are in.

I get the concern for Benn's welfare, especially against Bika as a comeback fight - unless Bika is just taking ££s to lose - however it's a bit rich for Warren to criticise anyone for bypassing BBBC given his own history!

Listen, im not for Benn fighting again at all, but to listen to these two condemn it, after the kind of mismatches they put on with their "last minute subs" is a bad joke. They'd put their granny in with Wilder if they thought there was money in it.

All three opponents before Ortiz, 2 of them being top 5 fighters, were popped for PEDs. Don't blame the monster.

Every promoter and match maker has, and will always do mis-matches. It's why journey men exist, get fighters experience, exposure, build a record (padded or not), but this is a completely different level of mismatch, so can't really compare.

Ive seen guys in there with hard hitting young prospects who certainly look in much worse condition than Benn, some clearly much older than billed, and wouldn't be too suprised if a few arent imposters. We know it happens abroad, tragically. So its certainly comparable. At least the same worst case scenario is always possible. These promoters simply see fighters as pieces of meat.
