We're seeing this a fair bit currently, I think possibly because of network exclusivity deals in place - smaller promoters; Banner, Star, Main Events, DBE basically having to cross promote with TR, PBC or Hearn to get their guys on air/stream... and I agree, it ain't good for the fighters if they're having to pay twice (although I don't know if this is the case) but it might be marginally better than not getting them air time at all. Been a lot of changes and power plays in the boxing world these last few years and the smaller promotions are having to evolve new ways of surviving.

Myself I like the messy old ways with the smaller promoters swimming round the edges always on the lookout for that one star that could break 'em into the big time, but I think those times may be at an end in this Brave New boxing world of ours.

Perhaps an antitrust lawsuit is in order against Bob Arum for his exclusivity deal. If it's causing other promoters to HAVE to work with him.

I guess you'd have to contact the relevant legal experts.

I'm merely making the observation that that's the way the promotional wheel seems to be turning but I seriously doubt any of it is actually illegal. If you like to believe there's 'goodies' and 'baddies' in this game, man, that's on you.

In those cases I could see a Mexican promoter needing to use an American promoter in order to help navigate US rules and regulations.
