So...you’re saying he ducked other welters after Porter (who he went and beat in his own backyard), yet went up 2 divisions to fight the boogeyman, GGG, then went straight back down 2 divisions to fight Spence, who everyone else was avoiding?

If there’s no money in a fight, it’s not ‘ducking’. Brook struggled to get meaningful fights after Porter, which is why he took the GGG fight. He then he didn’t want to give up his title and go to 154 (as Hearn would have no doubt preferred him to), so took the high risk fight against Spence.

Things could have been very different for Brook, but at the end of the day he’s fighting to make a living, and the GGG fight along with the money was on the table and he took a chance. A ducker he isn’t.

Khan will never fight kell because when he gets clipped, it will just confirm why he has been running from kell for a more than a decade. As soon as kell takes a tune up, khan will see him work tuck his tail and run again. It never fails

I know he's said otherwise but deep down he obviously know's better. Crawford's gotta defend his belt against his mandatory anyway.

After that fight he moved up to 154 and is only returning to 147 for big money fights because there is none for him at 154.

Brook hasn't even competed at 147 in a long time and doesn't even know how his body will respond to the weight now, he knows full well he could be drained at the weight now. So under those circumstances Khan isn't a tune up or a fight he should jump right into because If your drained Khan can beat you. Khan beat a lot of decent fighters don't let the fact that TC washed him fool you, TC is probably the best 147 of this generation.

Thats one thing he can't be accused of and i found it particularly admirable that he engaged ggg in a firefight while displaying great punch selection and heart considering a bodyshot in round one nearly had him down.

Agreed fully on everything you said until you said Crawford is probably the best of this generation. How many fighters do we see jumping up 2 weight divisions to fight the Boogeyman no one wanted to fight at that point give that Boogeyman ggg a heck of a fight better than anyone except canelo And then come back back down and fight a killer in Spence and make that the closest fight Spence has ever had as a pro. Now as for Crawford being the best of generation is like mmm well only know if Crawford signs with pbc If your American you'll get what I'm saying Crawford is like the ucf football team of boxing looks marvelous winning cause weak opposition can be upperteir teams but can they beat a clemson or Alabama mmm they'll make it a fight til the 4th qt then lose. Well crawford fights nobodies cause signed to top rank sadly. Can beat 90% of welterweight but can he honestly beat Thurman pacquiao Porter convincingly ( not some controversial win) then can he beat Spence. Had Kell Brook not been aged badly by those broken eye sockets could Crawford beat a prime brook. Sadly we'll probably never know until Crawford signs with pbc and even then who's to say by the end of his contract with TR he won't have aged ( not everyone is Hopkins pacquiao and Mayweather and stay there prime past normal age 95% dont. It's sad Crawford is with the wrong promotion at the wrong time in career. It's a waste of talent
My thing is this. If we are going to say Mayweather was the greatest welterweight of his era. Then by those standards. Crawford is not to far off, because there was a lot of guys Floyd could have fought but didn't. First that come to mind would be Paul Williams and Margarito, he even called out Winky Wright at 154 in like 05 then reneged. Outside of De La Hoya and Corrales, Floyd's most notable wins didn't come until he was into his 30's. Just prior to that he was fighting dudes like Baldimor, Mitchell, old Gatti, Bruseles..all tailor made .

That's why the word "probably" comes into play with suggesting that Crawford could be this generations best welterweight, he is at the same point Floyd was when his most notable wins came in just getting into his 30's with plenty of big fights that can still be had for him. All he's got to do now is get the other guys in the ring and prove which it he's been trying to do. Beating Spence alone would be a big piece to the puzzle though. All the other notable welter's are in their 30's too outside of Spence who's right at that doorstep himself.

It's not to say I'm right about Crawford but it's a possibility IMO right now, he's the closest thing I've seen to Floyd as far as accomplishments and skills go since Floyd left the game.

Brook should go to the mix for 154 title. he is clearly jr. middleweight now. No need to waste time thinking about welterweight Khan, why not become two division champion?

Brook has been trying to preserve himself and his reputation for the big pay day but like with any professional sport you can't take a long break and then expect to be still at your best. The only conclusion I can draw from that is that Brook is not expecting to perform at the highest level now, he just wants that big pay day before retiring.

The big question for him is any promoter going to come up with the dinero to fulfil his fantasy?
