Canelo has really come into his own since his rematch with Golovkin. He's reached a level of craft that I think everyone can say has instated him to the top of the p4p rankings. I find it interesting though how it isn't until now do we see his boxing craft develop so exponentially. His shot selection, tenacity, poise and overall professionalism has made a huge leap to where no of us will be surprised if he stops a full sized light heavyweight knockout artist. H3ll it wasn't too long ago at all that he was going the distance with blown up welterweights and light welterweights in competitive fights with the likes of Cotto. I guess the basis of my discussion is, is Canelo a late bloomer in terms of where his craft really took off? Ruminating about Duran, Leonard, Floyd, Pernell, Trinidad, Cotto, Pacquiao, etc.. I think you'd have to say.. yeah?
Is Canelo a late bloomer as far as ATG standards go?

8Yes. For his experience and record, it's surprising.25.00%2No. Plenty of ATGs found their best self well into their career.75.00%6Tags: None -
Yes and no.
Yes in terms of the previous generations. You had guys like Tyson, Floyd, Hearns, Foreman ect, just in general those guys in their early 20s had accomplished a lot.
I think Canelo is ahead of Cotto though. Looking at it, Cotto didnt move up to 147 until he was 26. Canelo is only 29 now, his early record is better than Cottos.
For present day fighters, a lot of these guys are starting later and later. Look at most of the top guys in boxing, they are all in their 30s and Canelo has a better resume than anyone but Pac who is older generation. At 29 now Canelo has a stacked resume for the modern age. Crawfrod, loma, Fury, wilder all in their 30s. Spence and AJ are 29, same age as Canelo and his resume chits all over theirs. -

Dude has had only 2 fights after the GGG rematch tf lol
#CaneloGGG2: Great performance by Canelo but imo & I believe the majority he lost that fight.
#CaneloFielding: That fight was such a joke as far as I'm concerned that shìt never happened. It proved absolutely nothing & I'll likely never watch it again.
#CaneloJacobs: Imo the most important win of his career. Clear win but nothing I'd consider as dominant or overly impressive. I was more impressed with his loss in #CaneloGGG2 than this in terms of his performance.
I don't see the major growth from the GGG rematch, if anything I see regression but I definitely don't see the growth. I think it's way too early to make a thread like this & act as if he's improved leaps & bounds since the GGG rematch, but that's just me.Last edited by MPDKSAB; 09-24-2019, 01:55 AM.Comment

- -Always comedy when soft lads gather to discuss boxing.
At age 29 Moneyfraud was KDed by the disgraced Judah recently whooped by Baldomir out of Lord of the Ring and then toasted Baldy hisself.
Win, lose, or draw vs Kov, Canelo light years ahead of Mayboy in competition.Comment

The delusion of Canelo fans is at a All Time High Right Now
Canelos Good But he isn’t and never will be a ATG / Guys has just been included in the top P4P lists and it took 2 Gifts to get there , Now Mofos want to talk about him being a ATG
Be Honest with Yourself / If Canelo was Judged fairly like every other Fighter He’d Have Ls every time he fought the Best , 147 ( Mayweather ) 154 ( Lara ) 160 ( Golovkin ) . Is that ATG
How many ATGs get popped for PEDs during their Prime ?
What ATGs have fought all their HOF Opponets when they were over 35.
Take a Look at any fighter you consider a ATG / Look how many gifts they needed to maintain the illusion of Greatness / Look at the when they fought their best Opponets/ Now go Compare that with Canelo.
There’s a differenceComment
