There was no wba champ when Fielding won the belt..surely you know this. Cant be interim if youre the only champion... Callum didnt fight for the vacant wba until after Fielding was already wba champ (cant make this up). Blame the WBA for this hilariousness but Canelo is indeed a 3 weight champ right now. They should just have a regular champ and an interim if it comes down to it..but they chose this route when they had the perfect opportunity to have just one champ.

Everyone should be held to the same standards.

Pacquiao isnt an actual 8 division champ, because he didnt hold one of the ABC-belts in 2 of those divisions,
but he has a more legitimate claim, because he had the RING and lineal title in those divisions, which more often than not are more difficult to acquire than a random (vacant) ABC belt.

GGG's title run as the regular champion shouldnt count towards his title run as long as a superchampion existed in that division. It was unfair that Sturm avoided him for, but life sucks sometimes.

Canelos title at 168 isnt a proper title, because it was only a regular title and Groves was the super champ at that time.

So not only has the alphabet soup of titles watered down the value of a belt, it is a moving target that we redefine based on who we like as champions and who we don't.
