Comments Thread For: UFC Prez: F***ing Crazy To Set Canelo-Kovalev on Day of UFC 244

UFC President Dana White believes Golden Boy Promotions and streaming service DAZN are crazy to go head to head with UFC 244 on November 2. On that date, Golden Boy will be staging an event at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, where Canelo Alvarez will jump up by two weight divisions to challenge WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev.

I think UFC will take a loss her. Now if it was khabib vs Ferguson then we have a different story.

It's a lose-lose for both sides. Diaz vs Masvidal is a draw. Boxing fans will act obtuse like they always do but UFC fans aren't skipping this for Canelo. The ones on the fence (fans of both) will be split and I think each side will feel it, even though I think they'll both still be successful. It's not like one side is going to get crushed here.

Normally I would see it Que balls way but this time I don’t see it as an issue. Canelos casual fans could probably care less about what the Ufc is up to. In fact the CASUAL fan base that ques to see Canelo fight probably don’t even care about any other boxing matches save his

I'm not sure their audiences really overlap that much. I tend to watch boxing on a regular basis, and UFC only rarely. I'll be watching Canelo-Kovalev.
