Comments Thread For: Just How Dangerous Is The Kovalev Fight For Canelo?

By Keith Idec - Sergey Kovalev thought Egis Klimas was kidding the first time Kovalev's manager mentioned the possibility of fighting Canelo Alvarez. Kovalev remembered Alvarez all the way back from 2012, when he watched a young junior middleweight spar against eventual rival Gennadiy Golovkin in Big Bear Lake, Cali...

It’s a tough fight, I can agree with the author.. it’s obviously not the best Kovalev we would have seen... but this version of Kovalev is still a challenge for anyone let alone a 160 pounder who will have disadvantages is weight, height, power, and reach... should be fun to see

This fight has no danger at all, The dying ancient fossil called Kovalev is only here to hand the 'L' to drug cheat Canelo so he can get paid good retirement money hahaha easy to see this fight for what it is. No way did Clenelo fight guys like Kovalev or GGG when they at their peak he waits till they become pensioners.

I would not be surprised if Canelo got stopped. His conditioning is poor and he's fighting a bigger puncher.

You also didn't mention two things.

                1. Kovalev just went through a war only weeks ago and has a short run up

                2. The drug testing only starts now, kovalev was tested in his previous fight but Canelo (already a proven drug cheat) has not been tested in past few months.

This is why Canelo is taking this fight against Kovalev ...That might’ve been a non-starter for the 6-foot Kovalev, who hasn’t weighed in at less than 174 pounds for a fight in seven years.

Is seems the most common view is. Canelo is a terrific body puncher.. Kovalev is soft when it comes to the body. There are questions as to how well Kovalev takes care of his body. I.e. alcohol

It's also not good to hear Kovalev saying would have retired it didn't last fight.

But should be interesting.. Canelo by KO
