Canelo vs Kovalev Appreciation thread: What Do You Expect to see from either?

I expect to see Krusher fighting a conservative fight to maintain stamina 12 rounds. Kovalev is very awkward offensively with angles, but he shouldn’t frustrate himself swinging and missing to Canelo’s game. Kovalev will be aware, as Spence was with Mikey, that the Mexicans are counting on counterattack accuracy.

I don’t think Canelo will have success with the high guard or blocking jabs against Kovalev’s range since it it’s risky with Krusher’s follow up punches.

Now Canelo, call me crazy, but I prefer him to move around the ring like SRL in the Canelo vs GGG1 bout. Rack up points, move out, reset, attempt power punches in good spots, dip out.

I am one of the very few that don’t see Canelo stopping Kovalev. I prefer Canelo to fight smart since he has many more fights to go.

I think Kovalev will try to keep the fight on the outside keel canelo at the end of his punches throwing mainly jabs me feints waiting for canelo to make a mistake then unloading that straight right.. for canelo, i thinking he would be smart to use a lot of head movement to counter off Kovalev a jab in order to get on the inside and then unload on Kovalevs body early and often... Kovalev doesn’t have great feet so he will be there to be hit on the inside... but with that being said... a lot can change once you get socked in the mouth

Pace yourself Canelo lover. The fight is over 6 weeks away and you will start 1000 threads about it and talk it to death. Canelo will call you crazy? You are crazy without a doubt but I doubt Canelo talks to you as much as you would love that. Obviously Canelo wants to keep the fight at close range if he can and go hard to the body. Kovalev wants to keep the fighting at long range and keep the jab in Canelo's face and try to knock his head of with straight right hands. Kovalev is weak in the body and should clinch every time Canelo is close to try to prevent damage to his body. I have no idea who wins but I hope it's Kovalev so you will have to shutup about Canelo for at least a little while.

Imagine if Kovalev doesn't hit the booze during camp. I like his boxing skills on the outside, but I liked them more when he felt invincible in there. Now that the veil's been lifted, he boxes tentatively nowadays.

This is a dangerous fight for Canelo. Regardless of what weight you walk around at, Kovalev's used to hitting and getting hit by guys that walk around at about 190-200 lbs and rehydrates to about 185 on fight night...naturally bigger guys.

Canelo's every bit of 5'8 and that extra weight may be a factor for him in the later rounds. Again, if Kovalev gives us one more night of "old Kovalev", Canelo may be in trouble. He can do 3-5 rounds of his old self and make it a difficult night for Canelo.

I rarely reply to his posts. He loves following me around on the site because I told him I could give him GGg’s Autograph on toilet paper
