It was done in typical Mayweather fashion, at the right time. Oscar was old and clearly slipping and Canelo was young and not ready for that kind of fight. Mayweather is the most cautious fighter ever inside the ring and also in booking his fights.

    Coward.

you can make that same arguement for Canelo. GGG,Kovalev, Cotto,Mosley, Floyd....were all over 35 years old when Canelo decided he wanted to fight them and those are the biggest names on his resume period. Canelo and his team intentionally waited Golovkin out. Like cmon now, your calling the kettle black.

Thing with Canelo is he's a great fighter but hasn't ever looked invincible

        There's levels to ability

        Roy/Floyd/Tyson/etc

        pacquiao

        Canelo/ODLH/Marquez/etc

        Miguel Cotto

Guys like Tito Trinidad, Roy Jones Jr, Benard Hopkins, Calazage, Oscar delahoya in his prime, Vernon Forest, James Tony WOULD have absolutely SMOKED Canelo.

Then you cat's have the nerve to put this kid #P4P and ATG, TBE ect BS.

I agree with you. Canelo is like Floyd in that he is a very highly skilled cherry picker. At least Canelo's fights are more entertaining than Money May's were. I'm not here to defend Canelo!

Could anyone here say Alvarez has surpassed MAB, JMM, JCC, EM and Salvador Sanchez among others?

Well if you want to cite his accolades, you must also be prepared to scrutinize them. Canelo has the chance to add good wins at smw tho.

That goes for any boxer, don’t you think? Name a boxer that you can’t scrutinize wether he still fights or is retired... but that’s not the point, the point is that canelo is Doing things no one else is going for boxing and is making history and is still under 30. He is a living legend and the greatest boxer out of Mexico ever..

it does, but hallow accomplishments like being champ in 3 divisions, when one of the titles isn't real, isn't what elevates him above mayweather. we know what's meaningful and what isn't. he really isn't far off tho. when the serious conversation starts about who's done more, the mayweather fanboys who say canelo's achievements serve to bolster Floyd's legacy, will turn on canelo.
