It is a real achievement if he can beat Kovalev and equal **** Tiger's accomplishment. Yes, Love is on the slide, but he hits about as hard as Beterbiev, beat a young lion in Yarde, and still is dangerous. There is risk in this fight, it's not like he's fighting Fielding. It's a better fight than Jacobs.

So everyone is going to pretend he didn't win a title at 68? Ok...somewhere Felding has to be feeling super salty giving up his title like that for nothing.

Only scorecards can make a history for Canelo, ginger kid can`t really beat Kovalev.

              Wish he would go away

So tired of seeing and hearing this guy. Good fighter. But, he never drew a dime. Brags about himself endlessly. Why do they bring him to press conferences? Nobody cares about him. Just fade into obscurity. Please just go away B-Hop. You are tiresome.

Nor do I think he really believed that no White man could possibly beat him. He was creating controversy as a deliberate strategy. People grow. He no longer has to do that. He has to sell a different product now.
There is some truth to what you're saying, but it goes deeper than that; Bernard lived his whole life with a huuuuuge chip on his shoulder! He never gave any credit to his opponent when they beat him.
If he is more humble now, it's because he's old... and has to acknowledge his defeats.

You are right. He did have a huge chip on his shoulder, but he has mellowed. Hey there is some benefit to getting old. It beats the alternative.

Hopkins's speech before his last fight was pretty hilarious considering the outcome. "I'll spank this white boy and take him to school.. and then MAYBE if he recovers mentally.. MENTALLY.. then maybe he can come back to boxing"
