Comments Thread For: Canelo: This is a Risk - Kovalev is Stronger, Bigger Than Me

Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is very aware of the risk involved, as he moves up in weight by two full divisions to challenge WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev. The contest is scheduled to take place on November 2 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Bit off more than he can chew. It be one thing if Kovalev was a brawler with no boxing skills but Kovalev is very skilled and knows how to use his reach very well.

Canelo is going to have to get inside and eat heavy shots in order to get to that body and I think he will pay the price.

Canelo took GGG's shots. He'll get inside and pound Kovalev's body. Kovalev will fold.

Damn right canelo is taking a huge risk with this one! Despite the haters Kovalev is still dangerous and just beat a undefeated and young fighter in Yarde. Canelo is going to have to work on avoiding those Kovalev power jabs! Great *****in fight!

He would have never thought about facing 2014-2015 Kovalev. But unfortunately this is how the biggest names in boxing build their careers. Mayweather and Pacquiao almost exclusively fought either over-matched slow opponents or big name opponents in the decline.

Mayweather must be very proud of his son for getting a title at 175

Lol classic right there. Kovalev and GGG fight nothing a like. Kovalev is a sniper, while GGG is a guy who imposes his strength and power.

They are both great in their own ways but they fight nothing a like so that statements holds zero weight on how this fight unfolds.

Oh and Kovalev is a LHW lol. Canelo will have to exert a lot of energy to get to Kovalev and he will pay the price late.

I honestly don't think Kovalev is stronger than Canelo
