Porter was taking No Look Hooks from Danny all night long and never went down.
Broner fight could be partially attributed to the catchweight. Porter is a fully fledged welterweight and dropping down to 144 could have weakened his punch resistance.

8-4? Nah. I think I had Ugas winning with a VERY tight 7-5. One round off from a draw. Anything wider is bias. It's worth a rematch but we know it'll never happen.

          As to his tactics:
like Paulie said, if the ref allows it, it's legal.

Like Bradley said, it ain't pretty but it's effective.

Like Wallin and I both said, if the opponent is fighting dirty /rough don't sit complaining at the ref, it's a FIGHT. Protect yourself at all times. Do something about it!

Add all that up and you get the reason I think Spence is in for a rough night.

I agree with everything you said, but that doesn't make Porter elite.

He lost clean to Kell Brook using his ram and clinch method and lost close to Ugas after being floored by LW A.B. and looking ordinary with Danny and Keith.

Spence should win but it's not going to be a mismatch. Porter is too solid and will make this...MMA. Like he always does.

Do you think Spence isn't rough or he can't get rough right back?

Overcoming adversity baby. Both are going to have to do it to win.

IMO Spence Jr is just better. He's a better boxer fundamentally. He has the more telling and taxing punches. He can come forward and he can fight off the back foot. He's a great body puncher, he's physically strong.

Has Shawn Porter been able to physically bully and impose himself on someone bigger than him?

I thought he edged out Thurman to be fair but it was a close fight.

I think this really does come down to the experience difference between these guys. Porter has fought trench nearly all his pro career and fights better trench than distance. The four times he tested distance fighting, all four outworked him. Brook, Danny late rounds, Broner round 12 and Ugas.

Spence is a distance fighter, a very good distance fighter. The one time he's been tested in a trench exchange was Lartey, who rocked the jaw and had Spence running for his life in the last round.

To me, if Porter brings the linebacker, Spence will have a rough night. That's all I'm saying. If Spence can time Porter coming in, Porter won't have an answer and could be blown out like Mikey. I just don't see Spence being accurate enough to do it.
