World-class Welshman Andrew Selby has always had endless skill. Now it looks like he's becoming a devastating finisher, too. Superstar' (12-1, 7 KOs) served up a reminder of his talent in Dubai last weekend; taking half a round to demolish Worawatchai Boonjan with some dazzling combinations.

Have to admit, thought he might have proved to be slightly over-rated when he got stopped by Aguilar. Turns out the Mexican was a bit of a hidden monster though, he had an easier time against a world champ in Edwards than against Selby. It's possible that Selby underestimated him due to lack of footage, but Edwards can't have the same excuse.

Agree Selby didn't seem worried about the power until it was too late. He is probably up there with the best technical fighters in the uk . In a rematch he wouldn't let aguilar get that close

loving the look of selbys comeback so far .. he looks in peak shape and taking the sport serious again

Yeah, I think he fell into the trap that many technical fighters fall into, complacency. As long as the lesson is learned then the loss isn't as devastating, everyone loves a comeback story.
Agreed on Selby looking like a serious contender again, hope he gets a title shot soon. As a fellow Welshman I'd love to have another world champ to cheer on.

He's had a really tough couple of years but with the switch in trainers, he's looking very good. It's now announced that he'll be fighting on the Newcastle card on the 28th of this month. Really looking forward to the next two years provided he can keep focused and avoid distractions. It's been a frustrating few years as a huge fan.
