Yeah, a lot of people don't realize that the advertised purse they receive is not what they take home in their check. I would guess Ruiz is pulling down maybe $16M for the two AJ fights. Now, deduct taxes, manager and trainer fees, promoters cut, and expenses during training camp and he is taking home around $7M. Still a lot of dough, but not the kind of money he can be spending as if he was making Mayweather money. He is buying a bunch of depreciating assets like most newly wealthy athletes. If he loses the AJ rematch, his stock will plummet.
