Man. Reading through these comments it’s surprising to me that none of these posters are advisers or have their own promotional company. Seems like they know more about the business than one of the biggest if not the biggest boxing promotional company out there.

I get what you are saying, its not just like set up your own outfit and boom 25% extra free money, which probably explains why GGG Promotions partnered with Matchroom, basically outsource the stuff you aren't positioned to execute well to an organisation already experienced and scaled in those functions.

But you can't just ignore the Canelo situation, he's probably the biggest star in boxing and he obviously feels GBP have done him dirty, either they did which seems to be the case by misrepresenting his position for GBP's gain, or the communication with him was insufficient. Whatever the situation it does seem GBP have mishandled their #1 asset.

Now maybe the dazn side deal was worth it if Canelo stays and this blows over, maybe they got their cake and ate it too, certainly looks shady could well blow up in their face though.

dlh ***ed canelo over in the lawsuit from his last promoter. DLH/GBP got away scott free and Canelo had to pay 8 million

I guess you missed the deposition after the appeal where the judge order Canelo to only pay 800K to Zavala for punitive action because they found out that Canelo was paid 40K out of the 1/4 of a million promised.

Schaefer never ruined GBP. Schaefer intentionally signed dozens of 1 year/2 fight contracts because he was TRYING to get everyone to leave and sign with him.

That's why DLH/GBP sued him and he had to sign a non-compete clause and not make his own promo company or it wouldve been an Anti-trust violation...hence why Schaefer vanished from boxing for a few years
