Let's change this up. If Andre Ward had lost three of his last eight fights, two by stoppage and only a couple of punches away from being knocked out again in his last fight people would be saying he's on the decline. That's a valid point of view. Being objective about Kovalev's present abilities is nothing to get upset over.

you have to realize what youre dealing with in tony....guys like canelo and ward have made him feel small about his idol/hero golovkin

when it comes to ward kova he will tell you that kova was robbed in the first one and was cheated by low blows in the 2nd one

Yeah you sounded upset. Saying that Canelo who is a great body puncher will KO Kovalev with a body shot is in your view an insult against Canelo? Like I said any top boxer that had the same record as Kovalev has had lately would be under critisism. If he were fighting another top fighter in his division the same questions about his ability would still come up. If a fighter acts like a diva (that's my opinion) and claims he's the best and "This is my era" (that's a fact) he's going to be held to a higher standard. That just goes with the territory.

I'm not hating. it's a good challenge of a fight at a heavier weight, however it's a very well calculated risk. Kovalev has been looking like crap for a few years now, and has demonstrated high susceptibility to body punching since 2nd Ward fight. That plays right into Canelo's strengths - hand speed and body work. Their height difference will work even further into giving Canelo the advantage.

Comparing this to other recent fighters jumping two divisions is laughable. Mikey jumped two divisions to take on a 27 (?) year old champ just entering his prime. Brook jumped two divisions two a slowly fading unified world champ. Rigo jumped two divisions against a P4P fighter in his prime. Kovalev is none of them. He's a quickly fading fighter with TKO losses and a known weakness.

Would anyone be really surprised if Canelo wins in 3rd round via body punching?

I think that depends on the fighter and IF he really is what he Claims to be .

For example. Deontay Wilder makes claims of being the best and what not .
Yet his Haters claim he's a guy with no skills and a big right hand .
Canelos skills are rarely critiqued by his Haters .
They accuse him of being a cherry picking diva who gets love from the judges .

Alvarez is a top guy, no doubt.
I think his fans annoy me , more than he does.
