Comments Thread For: Arum: Fury's Cut Shouldn't Push Back Wilder Rematch

LAS VEGAS The cut along Tyson Fury's right eyebrow obviously was about as bad as lacerations can be in boxing. Bob Arum, Fury's co-promoter, still doesn't think that grotesque gash will force them to push back his rematch with Deontay Wilder. Fury, the lineal heavyweight champion, and Wilder, the WBC champ, have signed contracts to fight February 22 in Las Vegas.

Gypsy-Bum will be even more of a runner with scar-tissue on his right eye. Deontay will jab and bust the old-cut wide open; Tyson will panic and try to smother Wilder by holding and leaning on the champ throughout the whole fight.

Its looking bad for the Fury-Faithful.

      LMAO.

Fury isn't fighting any puncher with that eye until 2021.

Push date back to March now. Secure a venue. Don’t chance it. We need the big fights to happen

Fury will retire Wilder. Put him in a hospital. Life support.

Arum is saying Fury can spar in 2 months. I dont believe that. I dont think Fury should spar for 4 months the soonest.

Just make the fight for May.

They should have rematched already, if they went for the rematch this fall we wouldnt have this mess.

Wilder does not have a great jab. Wallin landed a lot more punches than Wilder did.

Depending on how Wilder looks against Ortiz, the cut just might push the fight back lol

False, recent compubox reports revealed that Deontay was leading the HW division in most active and accurate jab. I thought I debunked this notion that Wilder is not skilled two years ago.
