Comments Thread For: Ryan Garcia: This Was Chance To Stand My Ground, Get Respect

The unbeaten lightweight prospect was an unfortunate scratch from Saturday's show at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif. after originally scheduled opponent, Philadelphia's Avery Sparrow (10-1, 3KOs) was arrested on an outstanding warrant prior to Friday's weigh-in. Efforts to secure a late replacement opponent for Garcia (18-0, 15KOs) instead led to an ugly and very public dispute between the 21-year old boxer and the staff at Golden Boy Promotions.

Nah, somethings up with Ryan and Golden boy. This has been going on now for a min, may have escalated after Ryan hooked up with Eddy Reynoso. IDK but Golden boy sent a legal letter over too Maywaether and TMT telling them not to talk to there fighter Ryan Garcia anymore or leagle action would be taken, after Oscar saw Ryan cozing up with TMT at one of there events about a year ago. I have heard Mayweather quoted, offering ryan fights for money and future options. Oscar shaky at best lately. Ryan all business about his career but not fighting much. Look at where Ryan is @ this point and then Look at his rival Devin Haney is, a grade or 2 higher at the moment.

Garcia said he chose Sparrow over Duno cause supposedly Duno was an easy fight and he wanted a tougher challenge on September 14 so why the fucc would Golden Boy promotions pay him more money for an easier fight once Sparrow got arrested???
Garcia is really starting to become unlikeable with his diva attitude!
He ain't done shet in Boxing to be acting like he's a superstar and all them social media followers don't mean shet in the ring! All them 14-15 year old teenage girls aren't going to put asses in seats or subscribe to DAZN to watch him fight so IDK why the fucc he acting like he deserves million dollar paydays??!

I've already had enough of this kid.
He's not that special, but he's a special kind of idiot.
Let him go fight youtubers on instagram for all of the
          non-boxing fans who follow him.

Oscar and his crew need to get a grip. GB is losing it. They are in a very competitive industry. At this rate, both Canelo and Ryan will jump ship at first opportunity. That will lead promising fighters to follow suit. Then good luck recruiting top talent in the future. I am really disappointed in their lying and jerking this young man around. This on top of screwing up the Canelo negotiations to put together a fight for the September 16 weekend is beyond the pale.

Kind of early in your career to be behaving like a little diva b***h. Especially when you've accomplished next to nothing.

Ryan should sign with haymon, fight on FOX and Showtime, and be his own promoter. That way he can keep more of the money he generates. Generating $1m in profit yet getting only $50k in pay is what you get when you sign your career away with an actual promoter. PBC has shown fighters that they can have their own promotional companies and let the networks publicise for overall profit.
I see Garcia signing with haymon.....no doubt there has already been contact via the TMT outfit

The real problem with Ryan is that he sucks. ( at least I think he does) That his opponent was arrested on some BS warrants tells us about the level of fighters on his resume so far. Garbage. He should be demanding a break out fight already. Instead he's worried about his money. He probably knows he's gonna be KTFO soon, too. Unproven and already looking for cash out money. SMH.
