State Athletic Commissions or the FED's need to step in....

End the charade of these ABC bullsh.itz belts and created singular champion for each Division. Since the US is where the money is being made.

Most Foreign Boxing Org's will most likely follow suit and acknowledge this.

All it need is a Government to sanction it. Since Boxing is the ONLY Federally regulated sport in the United States the government DOES have the right to do this.

Is boxing Federally regulated in the US? Thought it was basically run at state level with the ABC kinda sorta trying to maintain some kinda consistency across the board by encouraging states to uphold each others decisions and preferably to adhere to the unified rules.

Which Federal body regulates boxing... or is it more a case of kinda hands off oversight?

Ummm. Interesting... part of the US Code under Commerce and Trade apparently..

Course it's a great idea, but I think it's possibly the kind of proposal that goes beyond the remit of the code... the stated purposes of the code are:

    (1) to improve and expand the system of safety precautions that protects the welfare of professional boxers; and

    (2) to assist Stateboxing commissions to provide proper oversight for the professional boxing industry in the United States.

Which could be as broad as they chose I guess, but the sense I'm getting is that a hands off approach is implied unless fighter welfare or safety is clearly at stake. It might be possible to construct an argument on these grounds, but I suspect it'd be a hard sell.

Ummm, and just for future reference whilst I know that ABC is a handy piece of shorthand often used around here to refer to the various sanctioning orgs en masse, it more properly refers to the (US) Association of Boxing Commissions... these days I prefer to just use the acronym that way to avoid confusion.

Fed government step in an create OFFICIAL weight classes and Singular Belt so their can be a starting point to cut off these ABC orgs and make them useless.

Need to trim down the amount of weight classes as well.

They have a piece of legislation called the Ali Act that deals with the relationships between fighters managers and promoters. They don't enforce it They leave that to the states. So it's basically a piece of toilet paper. I don't know if they have the will to do something like this.

You'd just run into the original problems that caused the government to create the first sanctioning bodies in America and allow the private creation of more.

How much do you care about the history of it? Would it be good enough to say the WBC is the government body? You're interested in details? Just want to tell me I'm ****** because you hate the WBC?

One body is an idea I think we all love, unfortunately, I don't think the government is the right people. They created this mess in the first place.

Yeah our government should use tax-payers money to sanction a brutal sport, a sport that should probably be abolished. Great idea genius.

we need one or a few rich people to buy up all of these alphabet organizations and combine them into one fifa type organization. call this new organization fiba (Fédération Internationale de Boxing Association).

FIBA belt will be the one and true only belt. all current champion boxers in each division will have to fight and unify for the FIBA belt.

FIBA belt will look like the ring belt and will also come with pure gold commemorative trophy. there will literally be only 1 belt per weightclass. meanig if fighter a wins the fiba belt and then loses to fighter b a year later then they give that belt to fighter b. however they keep the commemorative trophy that says they won the true champion ship at that certain date. so this same belt can be passed down for a 100 years even if its old and wrinkly. imagine the significance of holding the same belt that sugar ray robinson held. this is significant.

FIBA will consist of a council of ********ically elected representatives from different regions of the world.

FIBA will have mandatory extra drug testing, insurance pension programs for boxers, build official training facilities in multiple countries, overhaul of judging system to be more fair and transparent, stricter health policies and procedures (example: ensure fighters arent completely dangerously dehydrating themselves before a fight).

FIBA will take matchmaking power away from promoters and will be decided by computer algorithms created by the greatest mathematicians in the world. promoters will only be allowed to promote and market fights in behalf of FIBA and nothing else.

there will be a FIBA boxing video game series released every few years for all systems. plenty of FIBA merchandise.

The US Government couldn’t give a f.uck about maintaining the integrity of Boxing and even if you had a politician like John McCain who wanted to clean up the sport

The powers that be in the sport are politically connected enough that whatever effort was put forth would quickly be squashed

Teddy Atlas on his podcast said pretty much this is what happend when McCain actually tried

look how Arum could get Mitt Romney to come to a Pacquiao fight just after he ran for president, I’m sure the sports most powerful men could bring countless Politicians that are influenced by what they have to say

Fixing Boxing is almost a impossible mountain to climb , Too much $ involved by a few people who have no interest in the betterment of the sport and would rather keep things the way they are and keep the $ flowing into their Bank Accts
