They arent necessarily "mismatches" when the fights are made, but they turn out looking like that. There are far to many knockouts on that show. ID rather have 2 very evenly matched fighters duke it out, and have an extremely exciting fight...
Anyone notice the large amount of mis-matches on WNF and FNF

I also dont get why they show fights after the main event. I mean its the main event, if there are fightsd after it then thagt dont make mych sense to me at all. They should have all them ther fights earlier.Comment

They do this to fill time in the show in the case the main events end early, but they, for ratings and advertising sake, need to put their main events on at the same starting point.Originally posted by Souza2012I also dont get why they show fights after the main event. Wednesday and Friday Night Fights really exsist for one reason. Not to give us close, even matched fights that keep us on the edge of our seat, at least not most of the time, quite often they are simply used for two purposes : 1.)A springboard on the comeback road of an older contender, or an up-and-comer who had a misstep or 2.) A venue for new fighters like Allen Green, Andre Berto, etc. to become introduced to the boxing crowd.
In both cases they want the fighters presented to look spectacular, be it to prove they're back or that they've finally reached. The promoters, manangers and handlers understand that, in most cases, this could be one of their only shots to get the exposure required to find themselves on HBO or Showtime fighting at the bigger venues. So, often they give good fighters somewhat soft opposition so they can look good for their big television appearance. That way, they hope, we'll remember their names on the next go-round.Comment

WNF and FNF need the ratings just like anyone else. Many of thier fights are mismaches to showcase prospect contender former champs and popular fighters in fights they can win. Every once in a while they have a belt on the line usually at less than 126 but they do carry eliminators like Sultan Austin which in all is very significant fight in the hw divison. Although I do not give Austin a chance to ever win not even a punches chance which he is not. I remeber a fight way back in the day like 94 or somthing like that a very popular 29-0 fighter stepted in with a 14-0 fighter at lightwieght the 14-0 fighter was unkown but the other guy had already established a following and many impressive wins. Well the 14-0 guy would stop the more experanced man by tko. Both whent on to win titles and fight top notch fighters. Both now are trying to mount comebacks name the two fighters. Espn had another great eliminator last year. Cherry quiles that was a good fight with some good drama. Alcine was just featured on espn so was pascual two very intersting wana be americans. Alcine was put in a good match up against a decent argintine and won. and rocky juarez has been on the network a time or two. Espn is doing good things they are not always mismatches although many are to showcase fighters but there are true gems there as well and one will be this friday and one happend tonight banks castillo. Espn is the **** and the bring boxing to what it should be, entertainment.Originally posted by Njord777Wednesday and Friday Night Fights really exsist for one reason.
