Much respect for ginger for taking this match
Kovalev is past prime, but still one of the best LHW, with literally deadly power, a ferocious stiff jab (one of Canelos weaknesses), lethal right, plenty of boxing ability and experience, and huge advantage in size and reach
Canelo daring for greatness, taking a big risk here..This is how the cash cow of boxing should act, instead of cherrypicking no hopers, like a certain retired guy used to do

... but he chose Kovalev... (of course, I'm "happy" for Kova -- he will make some well deserved retirement money, tbh...)
Kovalev had 2 fights with ward, bhop and 2 with pascal. He was part of the HBO machine that built up his name. Was p4p top 3 as recently as 3-4 years ago... And yet this is a cherry pick. Makes perfect sense.
No one cares about callum Smith! No one cares about bjs. If canelo fought them, everyone would yell cherry pick or why would dazn pay for that!
You stans have issues. No one in boxing making moves at all and the one guy doing it, gets hate. No one's moving up for fights. First, Canelo fighting at 168 was a ***** move now 175 is a ***** move. He's 5'8"! It's pac and Mayweather all over again.
GGG needs to move up and fight callum Smith imho. But he won't. He won't fight anyone but Canelo!

Sources: The Canelo Alvarez-Sergey Kovalev light heavyweight title fight will take at the light heavyweight limit of 175 pounds as expected. There’s no catchweight in the contract for the Nov. 2 bout

On the 1 hand what if Kov comes into the ring in the 190s lb range(regardless of if theres IBF rules or not),& on the other hand it is entirely possible that Canelo is way too fast,& compact on defense to even catch cleanly & we end up seeing whats become a trend for nelo vs big punchers- that they leave their hands at home & are made to look amatuerish at times with wild misses when they do let their hands go.
