At kovalev's age he needs more time for his body to recover from a gruelling fight which he just had and took some damage too so yeah nov 2 is a bit too early to fight again.

It's an opportunity he can't pass up on though so he just have to suck it up but if it's up to him i don't think he would want to fight again on that date.

kovalev already addressed that...he doesn't want to cancel the yarde fight because they've already started selling tickets and he doesn't want to disappoint his countrymen.

it's a homecoming fight for him...why would he cancel it? unless canelo would agree to fight in russia lol.

i guess that was more important for him than having more time to prepare for canelo... i guess he felt he had enough time regardless...

should play in his advantage, good to keep the old man busy and by the way they used to fight even faster then this so there's no excuses think it will help Kovalev

They have a date set and the date takes precedence over the opponent. And if you don't submit to their terms, they will find someone else for that date.

If Kovalev's people were looking out for him, they'd of tried to push back this fight. Now he can either avoid sparring till the last week or so and just train, or he'll have to risk taking a pounding while already potentially having a concussion from the Yarde fight.

The Canelo nutriders want to desperately overlook this and call it built in excuses, to try and spin the narrative of what a great feat this is.

But context matters. This is the same guy who didn't wanna fight full fledged Middleweights at the full 160 limit and instead made them agree to 155 catchweight fights. But now he wants to go to 175?
So you're saying Kovalev is whoring himself out for the money?
