Comments Thread For: Joshua's Trainer Hits Back at Claims He Put His Fighter at Risk

Trainer Rob McCracken has refuted claims that he put Anthony Joshua's health at risk by allowing him to fight on following two knockdowns in his world heavyweight title defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr. in June. McCracken has come in for criticism after admitting in an interview with the BBC that he "knew he [Joshua] was concussed, and I'm trying to get him through a few more rounds".

Well kind of parodoxical saying you knew he was concussed but still let him continue and did not put him at risk...

McCraken is full of it. He's the performance director of the English Institute of Sport. He should know better, a lot better.

Boxers are not players, they are fighters actively seeking to concuss each other.

Headway need to walk past boxing and concentrate on other sports.

Had McCracken stopped the fight he would have come under much more condemnation than this.

A really tough gray area if you will!

Protect the fighter but give him an absolute fighting chance!

I knew he was concussed, although concussed might not be the right word.

he just got caught, and his corner get blamed for giving him the chance to retain his belts.

By the very definition of fighting, fighters willingly put themselves at risk and get paid for the trouble.
