I dont think Lomachenko cares about who he is fighting. Bob on the other hand will definitely protect his investment though. He knows that Lomachenko is guarenteed a shot at Commey once he wrecks Lopez.
If it was me, personally now is the time to take care of Haney. Loma has plans to drop back down to 130 and Haney will only get bigger in size.Comment

OK then fight after that. I think when you have a talent as good as Loma is, fans want to see him in competitive fights where the outcome is not predetermined. Dropping down to 130 to fight Berchelt would be that kind of fight. Do you agree?Comment

The plan is to have a fight in-between because Loma wants to stay busy and they expect the fight with Commey/Lopez to happen as late as April. Loma wants to be active. He is fighting. Don't expect anything else than a stay busy fightComment

Fight after that?
Loma is fighting Commey/Lopez after that. Everyone knows this. He can fight Berchelt after Commey/Lopez thoComment

The thread asks for options for Loma's next fight. IMO the best option for us as fans is Berchelt at 130 because Berchelt has a better chance to win which makes the fight more intriguing.
Fighting the Lopez/Commey winner is fine.Last edited by The Big Dunn; 09-13-2019, 07:36 AM.Comment

Loma isn't the kind of guy to fight once a year. I think he wants to keep busy, but he also has his eyes on the unification fight.
So he isn't going to be trying to make a fight with someone who isn't ready to go. If he can get a fight in December, I think he will do it. Then he will be fighting for the IBF belt as soon as possible after that.
Potential opponents who can't make it in December, because of other upcoming fights, will just be ruled out.
Potential opponents who would be difficult to fight in December because they will want to build it into some kind of superfight, or will act like divas, and who will drag out the process - they will also get overlooked.
Personally, I think the best options are:
1) Tank. Tank is thinking of moving up. Loma is going to move down. This may be Tank's best chance to get a whole bunch of belts all at once. Or he can just wait until Loma vacates, then move up and fight for a vacant belt.
2) Garcia. Garcia can make 135 easily enough, and he doesn't seem to have any better options lined up. Beat Loma and he can grab a whole bunch of belts all at once. Must be tempting. But who knows what Mikey is planning on doing next.
3) Haney. Young, keen and talented. No-one can complain about this fight being made.
People need to look at it like Loma is only going to have one more fight at 135 other than the IBF unification with Commey/Lopez. After that he moves down.
It's a once-off opportunity, to fight a legend and to perhaps win a bunch of belts. But there is no room for messing around. The fight gets made for the end of the year, with minimal drama, or it likely won't happen.Comment
