Well, unlike the eastern-euro hype job, most fighters do actually have to earn those kind opportunities. They're not like Loma who has just gifted a world title opportunity early in his career. And we all know how his undeserved title fight with Salido ended, but Lomachenko was then gifted another title opportunity in his next fight just because that corrupt bastard Bob Arum pulled some strings.

True, but Floyd didn’t wait until he was about 26 to turn pro and spend a few years fighting in WSB, which is essentially professional fights and probably more difficult than your knockover jobs at the start of a normal pro career.
I’m a big Loma fan but the whole thing about him winning titles in super quick time is not quite as black and white as it seems.
Had the WSB existed in previous eras, id dare say you would end up with a lot of good amateurs doing that then entering the pro game and winning titles very fast, but they didnt have that option.Comment
