Comments Thread For: Andy Ruiz To Tyson Fury: You're Not Mexican, Rep Your Country
Collapse
-
Tyson Fury is the self proclaimed 'Gypsy King'.
He doesn't have a country to represent.
Apparently, he is from England, he used to pander to the
Irish, he was Captain America for his last fight, and now
he's pretending to be Mil Mascaras. When he goes to
Jamaica he probably wears fake dreads and mimics patois.
It's not done as a sincere show of admiration for these
other countries, it's more like low-brow comedy in the form
of cultural appropriation.

I think its awesome!!
FLOYD MAYWEATHER did the same thing he wore mexican colors!!
FURY just trying to mexican fans as he should!! SMART MOVE!!
I thought it was beautiful to say the least. To me Fury is showing respect, just like Mayweather did over & over. That dumb response from Ruiz isnt benefitting Mexican fans, especially since theyve benefitted boxing in such a big way; deserving of accolades however it comes. Ruiz was actually reppin' his hurt feelings while actually living in the US. You would think he'd actually live over there if Mexico gets him so pumped up. Why settle for a very good but watered down cultural version (in Cali) of the place you call home?

I saw two celebrations congratulating at least two little league soccor teams - that just came back home!

Fury is just dressed like that because of the Mexican holiday. It's no big deal. But it does show what a moron Andy is because he isn't even Mexican himself, as he's an American. So this is irony. And he doesn't understand irony because he's American.
