Move up to fight Micheal Spinks. He'd have to have rocks in his head to do that. Hagler was a natural Middleweight actually on the small side. He beat other fighters by wearing them down. He was a solid puncher but not devastating. That wouldn't get it done against Spinks. He went out with all his brain cells and a healthy bank account. At Middleweight he was one of the best ever.

He isn't rated as the best boxer of all time, or even the best boxer of that group of people. He is rated as one of the hardest bastards anyone fought and for coming through serious hardship in his career like when he won in England and was subjected to racism, for example. He is not overrated for the things he is actually rated on.
