DAZN's Youtube channel has almost as many subscribers as PBC's two channels. The original PBC YouTube channel started 3 1/2 years before DAZN channel but has far fewer subscribers.

A casual fight fan, who stuck around after watching Penn State? Very few, if we're being honest.

And that's the point that folks keep missing. The diehard fight fan is going to tune in; the tech savvy that like to watch fights alone, will look for a way to steal the fight, but no one cares about them.

Near every other PPV will come from the fight fan watching with their family, the fight fan hosting a viewing party, and a casual fan choosing to host the fight for their family or host the fight for a group of friends. And yes, you'll have fans buying the fight to watch by themselves (no knowledge of where to look to steal, ****ty internet speeds, etc).

Over 600k people stayed on after the Penn State game and watched the special (audience growth numbers, and the trend lines for folks stumbling onto the program as it was running versus staying after the game, etc need to be known), and they saw a pretty good commercial for an event that still has time to sell them on.

Hopefully it flops hard to send a message to these greedy bunch. I'm a Spence fan but not a blind one. The only Spence fight that comes close to a PPV is against Crawford. I wouldn't pay $20 for Spence-Porter. I'll stream it for free.

          To each his own.
          Lol.

Spence vs Pacquiao for the WBC/WBA/IBF 147lb championships is a PPV fight, as are fights with Porter, Danny Garcia, and Keith Thurman.

Crawford is dead on PPV on his own, in case you forgot that bit.

Like you've paid for a PPV, gtfoh.

I agree with you buddy...I can understand some not 'trusting' DAZN since it may not be their 'crew' running the show there...but the business model is great for fans...these high price PPVs should be a thing of the past...especially when one or both of the fighters are not top 10 ppv.

I could see $40 or so for Loma-Tank, GGG-Nelo, Wilder-Fury etc...but sorry Porter is just a big reach to do a PPV, especially at $80

Bro...why do you want to pay $80 for something, and denounce another platform that is trying to charge you like $10 dollars for these types of fights...it is crazy to me

Because I value my time, full stop.

If you bought the year long subscription from DAZN from Alvarez-Fielding until now, what have you honestly picked up for your money?

The Joshua upset, Alvarez-Jacobs.... and that's pretty much it. Cong**** on you saving some money, but think about all the hours that you burned watching bull**** and blowouts.

The Spence-Porter PPV is a good card; the main event, plus Dirrell-Benevidez, plus Mario Barrios getting stepped up to contender status, plus a good ol' fashion scrap between Molina and Lopez is worth the time.

Will be at my usual sports bar, paying my $20 plus drinks (likely spending $50/$60 at the end of the day), and will be glad that I spent the time.

No different than going to a bar, tbh; very few folks spend money on the premium priced stuff, but I'm sure as heck not going to spend money on the bottom shelf swill that'll have you with a nasty hangover because it's cheap.

                You value your experience.

DAZN doesn't have the value to warrant spending money with them, tbh. With Joshua's US invasion imploding, they have Canelo for his two dates.

Still, spend your money however you want

I mean I did the year-long sub once GGG signed on, expecting the GGG-Canelo fight...so $100 bucks was my payment.

And I honestly haven't watched a ton...saw some of Haney, that was worth like $10 to me...saw Andrade-Sulecki, was worth $10, Joshua-Ruiz worth $25, Canelo-Jacobs - $15, GGG fight - $10....with the upcoming AJ, Canelo and GGG fights, that will get me to $100 value imo, in like less than 10 fights.

I can understand some not trusting DAZN in a way, since it may not be your crew that is behind DAZN...but the business model is great imo...the over the top hate on it is just strange imo...makes some legitimately seem like paid shills, and I know that isn't the case for most, if not all, of the posters saying that.

I don't necessarily want DAZN to takeover...if they had a monopoly who knows what they would end up charging...but I hate people so I don't like going to watch fights at a bar, and I can never justify paying over like $30 for any one fight.

                  But to each his own.

You can't, after the fact, turn "cherry pick went bad for the exciting finish" and then turn a 15:1 fight into being worth three months of Showtime, lol. And then count the Rolls destruction as if it had value, lol.

Not going to chase down the date, but for $100, you've gotten 6 fights of value, with the possibility of another 3 fights to close the year (ignoring undercards because DAZN is what it is).

The pricing line has changed, but I'm fairly certain that you could get those nine fights that you wanted for $100 or less on the piecemeal. So where's the value, really?

I've said it before and I'll say it again; a PPV buy is for a party. A party for your family, a party for your friends, or simply a party that your friends bring their friends too.

$75 is the price to host the party September 28th, and it's a fair price for fight fans, tbh (and Fox Sports will draw in some more casual fans); luckily, I live in an area where, though the general fight party is lacking recently, I can go to the theater for $20, got to a bar for $20, or host the fight at home for $70 (folks will bring stuff, but you're basically in the hole $200, making sure there's enough food/drink around if no one brings anything).

If the theaters shut down, and the bar closed, I want to see the event enough that I'd put up the $75 to watch at home, but the main event and two of the three undercard fights would have to deliver for me to feel like it was money well spent.

Money and time have different value to everyone; cheap for the sake of cheap isn't worth it to me

Well I like GGG so that fight had value to me lol...value is subjective...and AJ-Ruiz was a bonus, and I watched it live...and I didn't get the GGG-Nelo fight I was expecting...but the AJ-Ruiz fights are nice bonuses there so I kind of made out better than what I expected...also getting 2 GGG fights, one vs a good guy, and 2 good Canelo fights.

I again don't really follow the logic of hating on a platform that is significantly reducing the cost for PPVs...if it was Crawford-Spence, I still wouldn't want to pay $80 because it still feels like a rip-off...to hype up Spence-Porter and wanting to pay $80 for it...I mean I just don't get it.

You are paying $80 for Porter Spence...and I paid $100 for AJ Ruiz, AJ Ruiz, GGG-SD, Canelo-Jacobs, Canelo-Kovalev...as well as 5 other fights that had value to me...and that's only in half a year...I mean come on man, that's a deal lol.
