I've got it on tape. Gerry was coming off a long layoff and was showing much ring-rust, mostly in defense. He did land the left on occasion; but Spinks never appeared hurt. Gerry was slow and thrown off balance by Spinks getting off to a quick start and beating him to the punch.

You forgot the alcohol....but yeah. Gerry went into a personal crisis following his loss to Holmes. He felt he let Everybody down; and he never recoverd. He had the skills to be a contender and maybe even a champ someday; but he was distracted from the Holmes loss on.

dont think he ever landed cleanly on spinks. that fight really made cooney look bad. getting knocked out like that against a much smaller blown up heavyweight

Clearly you made this post to try to prove that Tyson hit harder than Cooney by saying that Tyson KO'ed Spinks and Cooney didn't hurt him. Is it possible for you to post something that isn't at least indirectly related to Tyson?
