I understand it is a stay busy waiting for Commey/Lopez winner, but I don't see a state government putting up Horn/Pac type money for this, Kambosos doesn't have the Horn backstory with casuals and Loma doesn't have Pac's name either.

Australia doesn't have the UK's population or boxing culture either, although because we get so few world class events the crowd would probably be decent I guess, the UFC's highest crowd ever was in Australia.

Loma was always going to be in a stay busy fight with the Commey-Lopez fight 3 months away.

This is about going where they can make the most money. When Pac's popularity was at it's height he didn't leave America. When he couldn't get the money here is when he took Pac to China.
Yeah Loma not making the most money he can here in America! He is not a draw here at all but after the Reception in the UK maybe he should fight Globally instead of exclusively in America

Networks and now APPS paying good Money regardless of Attendance and Ratings is why it is more Money in America for most fighters

most people would prefer to take fights at the right time and build their profiles....which is why arum squashed teofimo/loma when teo was running his mouth about wanting the fight

all i know is it wasnt me that was tweeting about their dismay over arum mentioning the australian guy for lomachenko...it was haney himself.....not me....

tank is still just 24...that fight doesnt make a ton of sense for him right now...if loma was on par with floyd as far as popularity and money then i bet davis would be all about it....but hes not....

remember it was either arum himself, or his step son, that said years ago "we arent about making the best fights...were in the entertainment business"....

Yea yea...the best fighting the best “doesn’t make sense”. If the sport isn’t enough of a let down, we have fans that defend the bs maneuvering. I mean, tank had all types of good fights he coulda done at 130...it’s not just about loma. I like watching tank fight...he’s got a lot of talent, but I wanna see him fight top fighters. Say what you will about loma’s opposition, but at least he’s targeting the other champions and trying to unify.

This is just a stay busy fight for him until he can get the winner of Lopez/Commey around April/May of next year. I don’t see why people are upset over this.

im not defending it....but know that pretty much all promoters do it somewhere or at some point...im quoting top rank directly...its an old quote and i cant remember if it was todd or bob that said it....but I remember it well

regardless of what you think of tank....tanks people have done right by him....hes already a budding star at a young age...hes headlining on showtime....he was main support to a huge ppv event(granted a circus) and his profile is building....theres plenty of time for tank to make great fights...and still make a loma fight....hes has a belt but hes still a pup

look at most fighters career arcs...most guys arent doing what hes doing at 24....

I don't think he is trying to say that Haney is too green. I think he is saying that Haney is the new apparent bogeyman.

I mean first we had Rigo. The bogeyman that would beat Loma, that Loma was too scared to fight, etc etc. Then they fought and Loma won.

Then the next bogeyman was Mikey, he would beat Loma and Loma was too scared to fight. But Mikey decided to skip up weight divisions instead of fighting.

Then the next bogeyman was Tank, he would beat Loma and Loma was too scared to fight. But Tank almost cried when Floyd looked like he might arrange for the fight to happen.

Then the next bogeyman was Lopez, he would beat Loma and Loma was too scared to fight. But Lopez had a mental breakdown the fight time he faced a legit opponent.

So now who is the new bogeyman? Oh right, its Haney... yeah he would beat Loma and Loma is too scared to fight etc etc...

Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of respect for the skills of the fighters mentioned. I just think that the whole cycle of people looking for a new bogeyman and actually emotionally buying into it is weird.

So Haney is the new bogeyman? Yawn.

So Haney is a great fighter who would make for a damn good fight with Loma? Yeah, now we can have a conversation.

he isn't doing anything special in terms of opposition and whether or not he is or will be a star is still up in the air. forgive me for not being overwhelmed by what he's accomplished. I mean, what's he gonna do now, fight in a division where one guy might end up with all the belts , and not fight him? Is he gonna fight leftovers on ppv?
