  • Comments Thread For: Parker's Trainer: Ortiz Rematch Will Be A Lot Easier For Wilder

The date has moved around a few times but it appears that the Deontay Wilder-Luis Ortiz rematch appears to have landed on November 23rd. Their first fight took place in March, 2018 with Wilder winning via 10th round knockout in an exciting thriller. Ortiz had Wilder nearly out on his feet in the 7th round but the American was able to recover and stop Ortiz 3 rounds later.

He’s right. Once a fighter reaches 60, they’re never the same.

I hope Ortiz has got a TUE for his heart meds this time.

If it’s even almost as good as the first fight I’d say it’s worth it.

Lol here we go again people talking about aging Ortiz but afraid to send there fighter to fight him.but actually I think it will be harder because Ortiz has had alot of time away from boxing plenty of time to get on a complex roid cycle which I know he's accustomed to being on.this fight will be even harder for deontay.ortiz will have them roids flushed out his system by the time he fights deontay

This fight will be a lot harder for Wilder (good try Parker) Wilder won’t be caught off guard like AJ assuming an easy night. Ortiz still the oldest feared hw out there

with the exception of the 7th rd...Wilder dominated for the most part. Ortiz is even older now...did u see his last 2 fights. Easy work for Wilder.

Enough with the dismissing of Ortiz because of age. Have you seen the boxrec HW rankings?? How many HWs are legit better? With the exception of Joshua - nobody tried to make an Ortiz fight or calls Ortiz out. So credit to wilder for taking this as an optional. Hands up - anyone actually think Parker or Chisora are better? Even on the juice Whyte struggled with Parker, Chisora and Rivas. Kownacki would have been ok too.
