PBC is giving the fans what they've been begging for

For years fans have complained there are too many belts in boxing. And what have the sanctioning bodies done about it? CREATED EVEN MORE BELTS!

PBC taking the steps not to recognize the WBO (which wasn't recognized until 2004) is a step in the right direction for the sport & answering the call of fans for less belts.

Yes, totally agree. Dana White will create the Zuffa Boxing belt, and that will be that. No more alphabet orgs.

The WBO are more credible than the WBA and WBC at this point. I’m all for having one true champion per division but PBC aren’t doing this for the good of the sport, they’re doing this to support their own agenda.

This is nothing more than a cheap ploy to label one of their fighters undisputed without having to fight opponents under competing promoters. Shameless shell game being perpetrated by PBC/Showtime/Fox while ducking Crawford. If Crawford signs with them in the future, watch how quickly they will acknowledge the WBO again.

If that’s the case, why do they recognize the WBA regular belt on all their graphics?

If PBC wants to give us what we want they would make Spence-Crawford instead of trying to excommunicate Crawford like he doesn't exist.

While I've made the point that they're the most prestigious belts...and they are no doubt about it

WBC and the WBA also comes off as the most CORRUPTED! Particularly the WBA who are just Pulling Belts out of their asses at this point

Actually PBC look a bit Hypocritical recently with the Lara situation and even trying to give that damn WBA Regular Belt Credence. WTF is going on in this sport right now? Fans have to stop picking sides and defending that side even when they're WRONG

WBA now has GOLD Belts it is ridiculous! So that means it is 3 WBA Champions in every Division Now. WBA has a long history of Corruption, or at least being accused of it. This is back in 2002...

and Fres Oquendo is still in the WBA Rankings and he haven't fought in 5 Years

The Sport as a whole need to do better! WBO and IBO Belts are Belts you Pick up on your way to one day getting a shot at a WBC, WBA or even IBF honestly. It is usually a lot of fighters very first Belts for a reason

for once do I agree with you (partially) lol.

Sure, it would be more effective to stop recognizing the WBA, because they keep pumping out those secondary belts. I get why they choose to get rid of the WBO though.

Nevertheless, getting rid of the WBO is still reducing the number of belts, so keep doing that. Although, as long as the majority of promotors and boxing media dont join in on that decision, it wont have the desired effect.

I remember when Japan used to only recognize the WBA and WBC, but it only resulted in Japan making it more difficult for themselve to produce champions.
