It seems strange to me that only a few heavyweight champions were very tall before the cruisers were implemented. You had I think Foreman and Carnera, neither of whom reigned very long? Then the cruisers come along and the taller dudes started getting further. I mean, Breidis showed that a cruiser can knock a heavyweight the F out in his fight with Char. Some guys have their best weight between 180-195. They can't do that and compete in the division. It's just a theory but I think it could explain a lot. What do you guys think?

Don Turner even thinks that Marciano would have destroyed the Klitschkos but of course, Rocky fought at around 185- his best weight. He wouldn't be allowed to do that today but should he? I think so...

Do you have to be over 200 to compete in HW? Wasn't RJJ like 195 in his John Ruiz fight or am I remembering wrong and or special circumstances?Comment

I'm not sure. Could have been and that was quite a while back, maybe before they made the limit 200?
I don't think you can fight at heavy unless you're over 200. Not absolutely sure, though.Comment

I could have looked it up first, but it feels more like a genuine conversation speaking on what I already have in my head. He weighed in at 193, and was 199 on fight night. I'm still not sure if it was something previously negotiated though since it was a big weight jump.Comment

And his win over Ruiz did show how a smaller guy can beat a much bigger man.
