I mean just watch the clip above where he's hanging on for life and not throwing anything back at Johnson. That's the definition of hurt.
Johnson in those days was a pretty damn good fighter not a stepping stone by any means for any middleweight.

You guys are crazy, Toney has never caught a flush shot on the chin by a hard puncher (largely because he has a such a skilful defence, knows how to roll with shots).

Chris Eubank's chin is much more tested. I'd like to see James stand in front of Nigel Benn with his hands down and without rolling his shoulders, see if he could stand up to that.

Here's an interesting excerpt from a Jan 06 interview with ESB:

              ---------------
ESB: Have you ever been hurt in a fight?

JT: Yeah, I’ve been hurt before. But you know what? When you get hurt, you don’t leave a notice. You don’t go ahead and run like this (moving back and panicking) that’s when people know you’re hurt. And when you are violently hurt that’s when you start dancing, you do like Roy Jones (doing a dance mocking Roy Jones, the onlookers burst into uncontrollable laughter)

ESB: Who hurt you? Merqui Sosa?

JT: Sosa hurt me! Iran Barkley hurt me also. When Iran hit me, I swear to God to this day, when that motherf**ker hit me dog, I felt that S*** for two weeks. But like I said, I was going to let him know. It’s a mind game; your mind gets you to through things.

The truth hurts man. You just can't take the fact that your little idol James Toney is a human being and not some kind of boxing god.

James Toney is legend, nuff said.

Why you even watch boxing today, you have no white fighter to root for, all you do is bash the great black fighters of today.

****, you have pic of Wlad in your sig, he's not even American, your that desperate. All I see you kiss ass the old White fighters, I don't like to bring race into this, but your posts def gets annoying after a while.

He was hurt in that fight with Reggie Johnson I believe. His legs were wobbly but he did a great job of surviving. It was just posted the other day. Its no big deal.

His legs were wobbly, he was jumping up after the knockdown, if your legs are wobbly you can't be jumping up and down.

Toney was not in trouble at all. **** that punch was not even a perfect punch, he just went down , Johnson hit him with many better punches then that knockdown punch with zero affect.
