i agree. i used to enjoy heavyweights, but now i cant stand to watch them. IF im just surfing channels and i come across boxing, its can be very entertaining if its in the lowerclasses, even if they are just nobodies.

But if i come across heavyweight boxing nobodies, then its always these enourmously fat guys that are INCREDIBLY untalented and INCREDIBLY hard to watch. It's a disgrace that we have to call these guys professional athletes.

What's pathetic is that you look down at me for my knowledge of HW's. Dude, I like HW's.... always have. I like cruiserweights and light heavyweights also, does that make me a bad boxing fan??

I'm new here, so you guys probably don't give a **** what I have to say...but why belong to a forum if you don't speak your mind?
I'm not a part of this league, so I can't make any predictions and have them be worth two ****s...but I've seen the argument between you guys and I think you both are right and wrong to an extent. Yes, I see that this league is trying to pick the three biggest fights- but I think the Ibragimov fight could be a meaningful fight for the division. Yes, a division that is a less exciting than it used to be....which means Welterweight, Jr. Middleweight and all the boys below in Featherweight, Lightweight, etc. are stealing the show. To love boxing and not give a nod to the achievements of the smaller men is a bit stubborn.

Like I said, though, the Sultan Ibragimov fight could mean a **** load for the division. He's an undefeated Russian 19-0 with 16 Ko's who fights like an animal. He is good friends with Tyson, who is going to be on Friday Night Fights this weekend in the crowd supporting his boy, and Ibragimov takes the Tyson style and examplifies it. Fast, high punch output, with quick reflexes and decent power. He has yet to be tested, and has flaws, so I'm not saying he's the savior or anything- but with what we got he could be pretty damn close to it. I may a thread about him the other day, and people were commenting about how their friends who don't even like boxing see Ibragimov fight and end up loving him. It's his type of exciting fighting style we need. Not the slow, lumbering clinching. The Rahman-Toney fight was bad enough that I'll never get my roommates to watch boxing again. Point being, it could be a fight meaningful enough that you guys should have included.

So, no reason to argue...and I know you don't care what I think you should do with your league, I was just commenting.

...The heavies were bad recently because of ****ing garbage like Ruiz, Byrd, Rahman, Toney, that hung on too long. Those chumps are starting to get weeded out and we have a ton of young talent out there. If you guys prefer to see little fellas punch each other 120 times before somebody gets hurt then that's your option. I prefer to see the big dogs rumble myself.

i dont prefer, but i definetly enjoy it. I like watching the guys at the TOP of the division, BUt when u get toward the middle, these guys are horrible and FAT. i would go as far as calling some of these guys obese. ITs pathetic.

The Heavyweights that are in shape and fit, they can be exciting to watch. But there haven't been many heavyweight FOTY's for a reason.

But an exciting heavyweight fight, could out-do an exciting welterweight or middleweight fight. Only problem is, there are so many exciting fights in the lower divisions, that are a very hard act to follow

...Now that's a fair post and I see your point with the last several years of the heavies. However, the young guns are starting to fight each other and the trash of the division is slowly moving on. Of the best five fights I have seen in the last couple of years 4/5 have been in the lower weight classes. I think the heavies are starting to get exciting again and IMO it's all about to change in the very near future. We shall see.
