Remember when Loma said it was crazy to go up 2 weight classes to fight Crawford

Also said it was crazy to go up 2 weight classes to fight Manny. Also said it was crazy for Brook to go up 2 weight classes to fight GGG.

He’ll take anybody,” Arum said of Lomachenko via ******.com. “He’ll go to 135 pounds and he’ll make a joke of [Jorge] Linares. He’ll make a joke of [Mikey] Garcia. They’re really good fighters, but this guy is super special. You’ve never seen anything like this. Maybe he’ll go to 140, I don’t know. He’s going to do this to everybody.”

Eventually, Lomachenko is going to face someone that he can’t clown and force into quitting. He could have fought Terence Crawford, but he didn’t fancy that fight. Arum wasn’t volunteering Lomachenko to fight Crawford at 140. But now that Crawford is gone, Arum is saying Lomachenko can move up to the light welterweight division
You can't compare two guys like Kell Brook and Gennady Golovkin as Brook jumped two weight classes up and look at what happened. It really depends. The weight classes were made for a reason."
But it was reasonable for Rigo to jump up 2 weight classes to fight him and wouldn't budge on the weight

    can you do simple arithmetic?

loma is already a 3 divsion champ

rigo is 1 divion champ, jumping to sfw , had he won, woul've only equalled to what loma has already accomplished

so where is the hypocrisy that you are insinuating here?

Remember when even Loma refused to give himself credit for that Rigo victory due to that exact reason of being the bigger guy?

        True!

The Linares and Campbell fights have clearly shown that 135lbs is Loma's limit. That being said, I'm surprised that the media have simply accepted that Loma will not move up to 140lbs (I'm not saying he should). Usually, at the lower weight class, the media (and fans) try to push the TRULY SPECIAL fighters at least one weight class above their limit. The media and the fans usually try to stack the whole deck against the the elite of the elite just to see if they'll sink or swim.

No one put a gun to Rigo's head and told him he had to fight him.

Rigo was the one that called him out and wanted to fight him and Loma just said OK.

Loma could comfortably stay at 130, even possibly 126. Him wanting to unify at 135, and already having 3 of the 4 belts is quite impressive.

This seems like a braindead moment for OP. After doing a little research, Lomachenko just unified the WBC,WBO, and WBA lightweight titles. His first world title was the WBO featherweight title.

              Lets count to three.

              Featherweight 1
              Super feather 2
              Lightweight 3

              Very good OP!

I'm not trying to diminish any of Loma's accomplishments.
All I'm saying is that usually the media and the fans try to push the truly special fighters one weight class above what is their "physical limit". If Spence clears out 147 and 154lbs, you really think the media won't try to push him to 160 and 168lbs? If Bud clears out 147lbs, don't you think we'll try to push him to 154lbs?

You guys act like we don't remember how events transpired. It wouldn't have been 2 weight classes if Rigo hadn't turn down the fight earlier. His fault for letting Loma move up and then getting desperate.
