Long time fan of both guys. They are and have been my number 1 and 2 favorites for a long time.

As others have stated, Lara’s legs don’t work like they used to. I don’t really see how this version of Lara stays away from Spence. I would pick Spence likely by Decision.

Spence would stop Lara in 8 rounds or less. Hurd slowly broke him down and caused real damage. Spence is quicker, more skilled and a better puncher. Spence would break Lara down even sooner. That could be a good cash out fight for Lara when Spence moves up.

I think Spence is a bigger puncher than Lara and would get to Lara easier than Hurd did. Spence boxed Garcia for long periods and focused on winning, not the KO so I definitely wouldn’t assume that he can’t KO Lara. Lara is a good southpaw boxer/puncher but I don’t think he can hang with Spence and be competitive for more than a few rounds.
