  • Comments Thread For: Sebastian Fundora, Jamontay Clark Ends in a Split Draw

Two of the tallest super welterweights in the world couldn't quite settle their differences in the ring. An evenly matched bout between prospects Sebastian Fundora and Jamontay Clark resulted in a 10-round split decision draw Saturday evening at Minneapolis Armory in Minneapolis, Minn.

Now that was a fight! But I kind of get the feeling the powers that be really didn't want the undefeated 21 year old Fondura to lose on the cards here. Clark landed over 35 more punches over the course of the fight at a higher percentage than Fondura an clearly won the 12 rd too. That should have gotten him the nod.

Its obvious they have bigger plans to build Fondura's name up for big fights in the future

I had it 95-95. That 98-92 scorecard is atrocious. Fundora needs to learn to cut off the ring and move his head better. But I think Fundora is a brutal ko victim waiting to happen when he faces stiffer competition.

Was a Good fight I had it for Clark by one round but I'm OK with a Split Draw

          Fundora 21
          Clark 24

It was two very young Prospects testing themselves and both found out they have some things to work on! Fundora needs a new Trainer! He has a good jab he knows how to use his size, his issue is his damn defense which is terrible. Clark have some good boxing Skills, just need more aggression with him standing on his punches more

Both are very young, fans need to calm down trying to pick young guys part when they do step up and some of their flaws are exposed. They have a measuring stick now so go back to the drawing board and improve on everything that was exposed

I had Clark, but Fundora applied all the pressure, so a draw didn't bother me too bad. Clark was technically better, and Fundora never did anything different. The Tower fights like a short guy. I've seen this sort of thing where the Mexican was a dwarf chasing a taller guy around. I don't think he's doing it right.

Garbage fight. Garbage card. You better hope Quillin doesn’t have it anymore. If he does, he might kill him. Angular needs to go home.

The draw bothers me because whenever these "ordained" young fighters lose close or wide fights they still win and are gifted wins or draws. Boxing has no credibility and if they want to fix it they need to quit focusing on that "0" and let potential superstars (and superstars) lose. The sport is just too damn corrupt and they need to figure out a way to fix the corrupt or incompetent judging.

I agree with you Clark won the fight hands down the decision of a draw is BS. Ring general ship, power punches landed, and total punches landed tell the entire story.
But; Just like a lot of people on here I watched the fight on Fox. Kenny Albert and Chris Myers are horrible commentators, they dont know anything about the sweet science of boxing. Kenny was clearly bias toward Clark and is ignorant to the sport of boxing. I wanted to mute the tv, but I like hearing what the corner has to say and the crowds reactions and the sounds of landed punches. Kenny Albert and Chris Myers do this sport a disfavor.....I felt sorry for Lenix Lewis. He being a former Professional Boxer and World Champion; I know he wanted to tell those two.....STFU.

Neither guy had any defense. Fundora is like an 8 foot tall brawler who doesn't seem to understand he's 8 feet tall or how to actually hold up his hand to block a punch.

It was a fun fight though if you don't like defense. At all.
